Gear Fit 2 Pro is designed to support off-line playback on Spotify

Just a few days ago, first hints about the Gear Fit 2 Pro have been popping up. Now there is obviously more information: The device is supposed to bring features, which makes the Fitnesstracker almost a full-fledged Smartwatch. Supposedly, for example, songs from Spotify can be played via the gadget - probably even without a connection to a smartphone.

On the Gear Fit 2 Pro, Samsung's in-house Tizen operating system is installed, Leak expert Evan Blass reports on Venturebeat . A GPS module, which can record sports activities without a smartphone connection, is also installed. In addition, the offline music playback of Spotify songs is possible. Thus, songs from the streaming service can be copied to the wearable. In general, the control of music should be possible as with a Smartwatch.

Also for swimmers

Other smartphone apps can probably be controlled via the Fitnesstracker, but more detailed information can not be found in the article. According to Pass, the Gear Fit 2 Pro is also waterproof and can be worn while swimming. For comparison, the Gear Fit 2 is protected against water by IP 68, but is not specifically designed for submerging.

If this information corresponds to the reality, the Wearable could partly also play in the Smartwatch league. The Gear Fit 2 Pro is supposedly compatible with iOS and Android smartphones. At the time of the battery, nothing is known. It is equally unclear how high the price will be and when the market will start. Soon, however, we will have more information: the presentation will be held shortly. It is therefore possible that Samsung presents the Fitnesstracker together with the Galaxy Note 8 on 23 August 2017 - or at the IFA 2017 in Berlin.
