Dell Latitude 7285: This laptop can be charged wirelessly

Dell has announced the world's first laptop, which you can charge wirelessly, at the CES technology fair in Las Vegas in January. Now the Dell Latitude 7285 is commercially available.

The 12.3-inch laptop is a 2-in-1 device or a detachable, that is, a tablet with an infectious keyboard. The tablet is powered by Intel's dual-core processor i5-7Y57, which clocks 3.3 or 3.6 GHz depending on the price class. There are eight or 16 gigabytes of memory. On internal memory you get a fast SSD with up to 256 gigabytes of data space. Windows 10 is preinstalled. The low-reflection screen resolves at 2880 x 1920 pixels. You can charge the tablet via the USB type C connector - or wireless.

At the cordless store Dell uses a little trick. The battery in the tablet can not be recharged by itself. This only works in conjunction with the infectious keyboard. For this you have to buy a rechargeable mat with a compatible keyboard. The mat then charges the keyboard and the keyboard supplies power to the tablet.

The detachable starts at 1.756 euros. In the best equipment you will pay 2,166 euros. The charging mat as well as the compatible keyboard are available separately - but not in Germany yet. It is not clear whether and when the cable function can be achieved. In the US the set costs 550 US dollars extra.
