According to an online report, 1.5 billion Facebook users’ data was made publicly available on a popular hacker forum for sale. Privacy research firm Privacy Affairs claimed the data found for sale online did not suggest that a hacker broke into the system, but it was obtained by scraping publicly available data. The database included names, email addresses, localities, gender, phone numbers, and Facebook User ID information.
